DAY 1 - ARRIVE CHRISTCHURCH
On arrival in Christchurch, the ‘Garden City’, you will be met by a Kiwiway representative and assisted at the airport either meeting your driver for your private tour option or collecting your rental car for the self drive option. Transfer to your accommodation.
DAY 2 - CHRISTCHURCH – DUNEDIN
Depart Christchurch this morning heading south through the towns of Ashburton and Oamaru to arrive in the Scottish influenced city of Dunedin. This afternoon take a drive onto the Otago Peninsula and enjoy a visit to Larnach Castle and to view penguins (included).
DAY 3 - DUNEDIN – TE ANAU
Spend this morning looking around the city centre of Dunedin, including the University of Otago and the steepest street in the world! This afternoon continue to Te Anau. This evening enjoy a tour to the Te Anau Glowworm caves, which includes a cruise on Lake Te Anau.
DAY 4 - TE ANAU – MILFORD SOUND – QUEENSTOWN
Enter the Eglinton Valley and travel through the breath taking man made Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound. Enjoy a cruise on this world famous fiord, dominated by Mitre Peak and the cascading Bowen Falls. Return to Queenstown early evening.
DAY 5 - QUEENSTOWN
Two free days to relax or explore the ‘alpine resort ‘ of Queenstown. Optional activities include jetboating, golf, wine tasting, a day tour to Milford Sound, local flightseeing. Optional activities not included in the tour price.
DAY 6 - QUEENSTOWN
Today is at leisure in Queenstown.
DAY 7 - QUEENSTOWN – MT COOK – CHRISTCHURCH
Travel through the Central Otago region to Mt Cook, known as ‘Aoraki’, the cloud piercer. Visit the Church of the Good Shepherd at Lake Tekapo before travelling across the Canterbury Plains to arrive in Christchurch.
DAY 8 - DEPART CHRISTCHURCH
Your arrangements conclude today with a departure transfer or the rental of your rental car to the airport. We trust you enjoyed your Kiwiway Vacation!
